October 24, 1994 is the most important date in A. Lange & Söhne's recent history. That day, at the Castle of the Dresden Residence, the founder of the company, Walter Lange, and his partner, Günter Blümlein, presented the first four wrist watches created after the new foundation of the house, including the Lange 1.

Only a twelve-hour registration refers to an additional function. Indeed, the whirlwind with 69 components with a patented second stop mechanism is only visible on the movement side - the height of chic as it is not visible on the "face" side!

There, this regulating organ oscillates once per minute on its axis in order to compensate the action of the gravity on the balance wheel with eccentric balancing weights developed by Lange. The second stop mechanism makes it possible to immediately stop the tourbillon cage at any time by pulling on the crown, making it easier to set the time to the nearest second.

The tourbillon bridge bears a blue engraving, the number 25, in the form of the large date Lange. This number refers not only to the anniversary date, but also to a particular detail of the first presentation. This took place on October 24, 1994. On that day, the display of the date of the presented watches was set to 25 in order to show a correct date in the newspapers to be published the next day.

The automatic caliber L082.1 is reassembled by means of a central rotor with a mass - in platinum on its outside - whose intermediate segment, in 21-carat gold, includes the engraving "A.
